Revisiting the Fundamentals of Framing

Attendees will gain an understanding of the finances of a framing business, tips on retail and wholesale pricing, chop v length, learn tips for managing inventory for profitability. Plus, a review of common materials, tools and terminology as well as their differences and applications as we discuss the five elements of a custom framed piece. Finally, simple workflow and process strategies-shop set up, material ordering and delivering a custom framing order.

Addressing the Art and Science of Conservation Treatments

Learn how a conservator documents and treats difficult framing projects; highlight triggers that tell framers when to contact a professional conservator. Participants are invited to bring their own questions/samples of problematic jobs.
